Thematic Lead – Climate Adaptive Agriculture & Food Sovereignty

Job Description

Primary Role

 The primary role of this position is to support the development of the institutional capacity of the Organization in the area of Climate Agriculture & Food Sovereignty and provide technical support in the operational/programmatic aspects of related Caritas India Programs to the PSS team members.

Key Accountabilities:

Programme Management

  1. To develop a thematic base and sectoral expertise of CI in the related thematic area; maintain awareness of emerging trends in this sectoral and incorporate the new developments as appropriate into related thematic-based programs with added focus and delivery at the Impact Level.
  2. Explore and develop models / programmes in the thematic area programmes in coordination with HO based /field staff for effective programme planning.
  3. Provide knowledge solutions and bring innovation to programmes and processes in related thematic area.
  4. Support in the development of national / state level strategy plan/s aligned with the Organizational Strategy.
  5. Provide facilitation in thematic related area to team members in the Implementation Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning for improving programme quality.
  6. Conceptualize new concepts, programmes, policies, guidelines, formats and systems, and tools in related thematic area.
  7. Provide capacity building to team members in related thematic area in line with the organizational needs as and when required.
  8. Engaging with Consultants to ensure their deliverables in line with the agreed Contracts /ToR drawn in line with organizational standards / timelines.

 

 

  1. Partnership Management

 

  1. Develop format/tool to assess the level of knowledge and identify capacity needs of partners.
  2. Building the perspectives and capacities of natural partners on related thematic areas.
  3. Maintain and strengthen partnership specially with International Partners and National Partners as per requirement.
  4. Network & Linkages

 

  1. To develop and strengthen advocacy strategies of partners.
  2. Facilitate linkages with Government of India and other relevant organizations/institutions on related thematic area
  3. Contribute, facilitate and participate in International / National / State Networks for establishing, credibility and visibility of CI.
  4. Planning and organization of CI International and National / State Level Conferences for strengthening network linkages in line with the organizational needs and specific objectives.
  5. Facilitating / Organizing of national / state level events s in related thematic area.

 

  1. Knowledge Management

 

  1. Facilitate/guide impact studies / research / assessments/process in the thematic issues for internal learning and dissemination.
  2. Building and participating in knowledge platforms; dissemination of lessons learned, experience gained, new insights received for building related thematic knowledge base within CI.
  3. Mobilization of knowledge, information, new trends in related thematic area and share the same with program team /operations for onward dissemination to partners.
  4. Mobilization / dissemination of CI good practices to external stakeholders for creation of credibility / visibility of the organization

5   Resource Management / Mobilization & Creation of CI Visibility 

 

  1. Value addition of perspectives and analysis into proposals for funding as and when required
  2. Enlarging the network base to engage with academia, CSOs, Govt., to leverage knowledge, financial resources and solidarity to the cause.
  3. Mobilize resources and engage in CSR activities to generate funds for CI programs.
  4. Undertake measures to create visibility for CI.

  • Administration and HR: Support in logistics, capacity building and other resources for various aspects of office / programme management.
