Rolls Royce willing to extend project Muskaan

Children who struggle to understand Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics can overcome their fear through assistive learning and innovative technology made available by programme ‘Muskaan’, the joint initiative of Caritas India, Rolls Royce and CAF India.

The program Muskaan promoted STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) kits supported by Rolls Royce to help these children to understand science and maths very well through play and games. It will also help the students to choose right career in engineering and science field.

After one year, 140 students from class VI- VIII of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mehta Vidyalaya, New Delhi are able to grasp greater knowledge and understanding of their most feared subjects and become competitive with other fellow classmates with greater confidence.

During the Valedictory function of the Muskaan on February 2, 2017 , Dr. (Mrs) Anju Tandon, Principal, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mehta Vidyalaya, New Delhi expressed gratitude to Rolls-Royce, CAF India and Caritas India for their constant support in this project.

“We have been able to achieve our objectives and have been able to enhance the knowledge of our students” reiterated Dr (Mrs) Anju. She added that with our partnership we have been able to promote commonly shared Indian values & culture and motivate the students to strive for excellence.

Ms. Anuja Kadiyan, Head Govt. Relations at Rolls Royce, said: “Mehta Vidyalaya was the first school in South Asia to collaborate with Rolls Royce for this unique venture and the prospects are open to extend the program for another year.” She also asked children and teachers to share their expectations from this perspective program extension.

Father Frederick D’Souza, Executive Director Caritas India, said: “The project has been named ‘Muskaan’ with the intention of bringing smiles to the faces of the learners and advised students to keep smiling while enhancing their knowledge.

Ms Payal Kapoor, Manager CSR Rolls Royce extended her best wishes to the teachers as well as to the students associated with the project.

The journey of Muskaan was showcased through the glimpses of various activities undertaken during the course in the valedictory function.

Students were felicitated with certificates for their commendable work during the project course. An exhibition displaying models evolved from the learnings of STEM was one of the attractive feature during the valedictory.
