Job Description

Brief Job Profile: The project associate will be responsible for multiple projects related to participatory governance and women-led community leadership. As the project point person, she is expected to accompany partners, help them technically, organise regional reflections and trainings and manage the regular project deliverables, including reporting. The project associate is expected to have thorough knowledge of grassroots governance systems and processes. She is also expected to help partners develop interventions to increase women participation in governance. She should be a team player with sound skills in facilitation, capacity building and coordination.

  1. PARTNERSHIP MANAGEMENT: Facilitate and support the partner organization through capacity building (in programme management, linkages with like-minded organizations and organizational development) to make them professional, relevant and capable development organizations.
  • Partners enabled to have policies, systems and structures that aid and assist consistent organization behaviour.
  • Establish coordination and facilitate productive interactions among CI partners.
  • Offer support to CI partners for strengthening organization systems and practices.
  • Liaise with like-minded organizations of the state in such a way that there is value- addition to the programmes of CI and her partners.
  • Establish and maintain healthy relationship with Church leadership and ensure that local Church leadership is sufficiently informed about CI interventions
  • Partners are helped with competency in enhancing the quality of the programmes in tune with their perspective plans.
  • Help partners with thematic expertise, as required in the context of programmes like governance, livelihood, empowerment, relief response, health etc.
  1. PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT: Facilitate, support and accompany partner organization and their staff for management of CI programmes in accordance with the quality standards of CI.
  • To ensure that the programmes are managed effectively based on the principles of PROJECT CYCLE MANAGEMENT (PCM) in the following stages of a given project:
  • PLANNING – viz. development of concept note / project identification, program formulation / design, budgets etc.
  • IMPLEMENTATION of the program through accompaniment of the key stakeholders (Program Implementation as per LFA, activity schedules, in line with program budgets etc.)
  • MONITORING – through regular program reviews, build a common understanding of key issues / concerns and of actions that need to be taken
  • REPORTING to key stakeholders through periodic reports, formal documentation of what was achieved, change in any forward plans; to promote transparency and accountability.
  • Ensure that programme results achieved as envisaged in the proposals.
  • Ensure that CI interventions are managed through Results Based Management in the stages of planning, monitoring, evaluation and documentation AND in accordance with CI quality standards.
  • Update and make available accurate programme database of projects.
  • Ensure efficient deliverable management in such a way that all reports are received from partners and are sent to ZO in acceptable quality in terms of being error free, presentable (appropriate format) and timely.
  • Communications resources developed which increase the reach and effectiveness of programmes.
  1. NETWORKING: Represent CI and work with like-minded networks and organizations in the given areas of operation to ensure greater visibility for CI as a credible leader in influencing policy and systemic changes in the field of development.
  • Conduct studies and research on specific aspects of the social reality in the state.
  • Strengthen CI profile by entering networks.
  • Ensure that CI is invited by the Government agencies in various meetings and consultation.
  • Help partners initiate issue-based advocacy and help them initiate networks or enter existing prominent networks that campaign for people’s causes.
  • Engage in resources mobilization efforts for generation of CI funds.
  1. KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT: Contribute to the knowledge capital of Caritas India with knowledge products.
  • Identify and document knowledge products emerging from the programmes of Caritas India and her partners.
  • Document innovations and best practices as knowledge products.
  • Conduct research for developing and/or synthesizing models which could be replicated.
  • Assist Caritas India in innovating programmes with newer and more effective ideas.
  1. STEWARDSHIP OF RESOURCES: Ensure that all resources of CI are ethically utilized and optimally managed.
  • Perform in such a way that partners actively seek CI Officer’s expertise beyond project.
  • Proper, prompt and accurate maintenance of imprest account.
  • Ensure that the assets of the organization are safeguarded and managed optimally.
