Empowering Future: Celebrations of Children Day across the five districts of Bihar

In a vibrant display of commitment to the promotion of inclusion of marginalized children, Caritas India, on 14 November 2023 under the Global Programme orchestrated lively Children’s Day celebrations across five districts. The day holds immense significance nationally as it serves to celebrate the rights and well-being of children. UN Convention on the Rights of the Child also emphasize the importance of nurturing, protecting, and promoting the rights of every child.

The celebration of Children’s Day in 2023 is anticipated to boost the social and political participation of children from marginalised communities on various platforms. The event aims to provide these children with a dedicated space to express their voices, share their experiences, and showcase their talents. Through engaging activities and inclusive celebrations, Children’s Day fosters a sense of empowerment and confidence among marginalized children, encouraging them to actively participate in social and political discussions. By creating an environment that values their perspectives, the celebration becomes a catalyst for increased involvement, contributing to the broader goal of enhancing the participation of marginalized children in social and political spheres.

The day unfolded with a series of key activities meticulously planned to create an atmosphere of joy and inclusivity. Colorful rallies echoed through the streets, skits brought laughter and storytelling to life, and a spirited quiz competition sparked friendly competition and knowledge-sharing. These activities aimed not only to entertain but, more importantly, to empower the children, providing them with a platform to express their thoughts, dreams, and experiences.

Participation in Children’s Day activities can have a profound impact on school-going children, especially those from marginalized communities. The opportunity to engage in such events on a bigger platform instils a sense of confidence, self-worth, and empowerment. It enables children to develop essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership. The celebration was attended by many PRI members such as Mukhiya, ward members, Tola Sewak and Vikas Mitras. They urge children to contribute to building a better society. They expressed their joy and appreciation for the Global Programme, recognizing its pivotal role in sparking the promotion of education through learning centers.
Mr. Niranjan Oroan, the Village President of Rampur Panchyat in Purnea East Block, encouraged the children to Believe in yourself, be kind to others, and never be afraid to express your thoughts and ideas. Your voices matter, and you have the ability to make a positive impact on the world around you.

The voices of our young dreamers resonate with aspirations as bright as the sun. These aspiring children envision a world filled with kindness, equality, and boundless opportunities. We dream of inclusive schools where every child, regardless of background, can learn and thrive.
