In Prayagraj’s agricultural landscape, a silver lining emerges for 650 farmers, transforming their agricultural destiny. The newly inaugurated Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) branch office in Maviya Chaura village stands as a powerful testament to community resilience and sustainable development.

Under the SAKSHAM programme, this grassroots initiative promises to revolutionize farming practices, offering farmers from Shakargarh block a lifeline of hope, empowerment, and economic transformation. The newly registered FPO, Kisan Utpadak Sangthan Avam Audyaik Vipran Sahakari Samiti Ltd., has been formed under the guidance of NABARD. Its mission is to empower local farmers through collective action, community-driven initiatives, and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices.

The FPO is implementing various programs to promote sustainable agriculture and enhance food security. By focusing on indigenous farming systems and reducing dependency on external inputs, the organization aims to build a resilient and sustainable local agricultural ecosystem.

To equip farmers with essential skills and knowledge, the Saksham program has organized multiple training programs and workshops for the FPO farmers. These sessions cover crucial areas such as Modern crop management techniques, Pest and disease control, Post-harvest practices and Organic farming methods. Through these capacity-building efforts, farmers are better prepared to improve their productivity and adopt modern, sustainable agricultural practices.
