Caritas India organised a three-day virtual induction and orientation programme (25th, 27th & 28th January 2022) for new joiners in the organisation. The programme is held to acquaint employees with the overarching structure of Caritas India and various components around its functioning and operations. Besides adhering to its mandated guidelines of HR, the induction sessions are also useful in helping new employees to navigate via their respective roles and augment their capacity to optimize work efficiency for the overall growth of the organisation.
The entire programme was held in a virtual mode keeping in mind the prevailing omicron wave in the country. Fr. (Dr.) Paul Moonjely, Executive Director, Fr. (Dr.) Jolly Puthenpura, Assistant Executive Director and Fr Sushil, Administrator inaugurated the programme on 25th January 2021.
Each thematic leads and associates in their allotted time thoroughly explained their respective work and functions through engaging PPTs. Throughout the programme, the moderators’ encouraged new employees to ask questions or share comments thus positively disrupting the back to back intensive series of presentations.
The programme leads passionately put forth the details of various projects rolled out on the ground, reflecting the thorough research and brainstorming employed in the process. They also discussed the set goals as well as the myriad accomplishments that have changed the lives of the needy for the good. The interactive sessions aided in allowing participants to put forward their valuable suggestions on proposed projects for a more integrated positive impact.
The induction programme also imparted crucial HR policies and rules to new joiners orienting them with the professional work culture and educating them about the redressal mechanisms. Interactive sessions with IT, communications and procurement heads, provided the needful understanding of the various tools and avenues available at the disposal of the employees for effective delivery of work.
The enlightening interactions with Fr Jolly and Fr Paul asserted the indispensable foundational principles and values that have governed CI since its inception. Fr Jolly underpinned the sacred values of Catholic Social Teachings and empathy for the downtrodden, crucial in weaving the pan India organisation together in a diverse set of realities. Fr Paul on the other hand highlighted the significance of resources and the importance of its mobilization. The session on Catholic Social Teachings and principle values of the organisation reaffirmed the core doctrine of secularism and non-discrimination of Caritas while being a faith-based organisation.
The entire induction programme underscored the value of teamwork, discipline, and professionalism. The officials welcomed the newcomers and promised to provide the necessary support for holistic growth of their professional and personal careers.
