Caritas India invites applications for the position of District Project Associate (DPA) for Khushaal Bachpan, its flagship child rights and child development programme. Khushaal Bachpan is a child-centred initiative that seeks to ensure that every child survives, learns, participates, and thrives in a safe and enabling environment. Khushaal Bachpan works closely with children, families, communities, schools, civil society organisations, and government institutions to promote child participation, quality education, child protection, nutrition, health, and access to social entitlements. A distinctive feature of Khushaal Bachpan is its emphasis on child-led development, enabling children to become active participants in decisions that affect their lives.

Key Responsibilities

The District Project Associate will lead the implementation and coordination of Khushaal Bachpan at the district level. The major responsibilities of DPA will include the following:

• Develop district-level implementation and activity plans aligned with the programme’s impact framework and ensure timely achievement of planned results.
• Lead field-level interventions, including community sensitisation, mobilisation, organisation, and capacity building of children, communities, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate child-centred and child-led development processes by proactively engaging with communities, PRI institutions, schools, district administration, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Generate and document knowledge, innovations, case studies, and best practices emerging from field-level interventions.
• Establish and maintain effective partnerships with government departments, district administration, civil society organisations, and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure sound financial management, compliance with organisational procedures, and efficient utilisation of programme resources.
• Provide guidance, supervision, and performance support to the district project team.
• Monitor programme progress, prepare quality reports, and contribute to programme learning and adaptive management.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with a degree, diploma, or specialised training in Child Rights, Child Development, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum five years of professional experience in implementing community development programmes in rural or tribal areas.
• Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in child rights, child protection, education, child participation, nutrition, or related thematic areas.
• Experience in coordinating with government departments and district administration will be an added advantage.

Language Competency

• Fluency of Hindi and English, both written and spoken.
