Caritas India Hiring: Program Extension Associate – Women Skill Development
Location: Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu

Primary Role:
The Project Extension Associate will support the implementation of women employability initiatives across five project villages by identifying and mobilizing over 300 women for skill training, placement, and job retention. The role involves close coordination with government skill development agencies such as Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation and Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission to ensure effective enrolment, training completion, placement linkage, and post-placement follow-up. The position requires strong community engagement, coordination with stakeholders, and systematic monitoring of outcomes.
1. Identification & Mobilization of Women
• Identify and mobilize 300+ eligible women across five project villages for enrolment into employability and skill development programs.
• Conduct baseline surveys, household visits, and community meetings to identify women interested in skill training and employment opportunities.
• Engage with families to counsel and motivate them to support women’s participation in skill training and employment.
• Ensure inclusion of vulnerable groups, including women from marginalized communities and women with disabilities.
• Facilitate the enrolment process of selected women into training programs supported by Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation and Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission.
2. Training Coordination & Support
• Coordinate to ensure smooth implementation of skill training programs.
• Support women throughout the training cycle, including orientation, attendance tracking, and addressing challenges that may affect participation.
• Provide counselling and motivation to trainees to ensure regular attendance and successful completion of training programs.
• Assist in organizing pre-training orientation sessions on workplace readiness, communication skills, and basic professional conduct.
• Promote awareness on health, hygiene, safety, and workplace behaviour among trainees.
3. Placement Facilitation & Retention Support
• Coordinate with placement agencies to facilitate employment opportunities for trained women.
• Support women during placement processes including interview preparation, documentation, and onboarding.
• Conduct regular follow-ups with placed candidates to ensure job retention and address challenges faced at the workplace.
• Track retention status and support women in resolving work-related or family-related barriers that may affect continued employment.
• Facilitate linkages with employers and maintain coordination for placement and retention tracking.
4. Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of identified women, enrolments, training attendance, placements, and retention outcomes.
• Prepare village-level progress reports and contribute to monthly project reports.
• Document success stories and case studies highlighting the impact of the project.
• Maintain data required for reporting to government partners and project stakeholders.
• Support preparation of project-related documentation and reports as required.
Travel: Must be willing to travel and stay in project locations as per the Program need.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Graduate/Postgraduate in Social Work, Rural Development, Sociology, Human Resource, or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in community mobilization, women empowerment, skill development, livelihood promotion, or placement-linked programs.
• Experience working with government skill development initiatives and rural communities will be preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills in Tamil and basic English.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and maintain documentation/reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic data management.
• Candidates from Sriperumbudur or nearby areas will be given preference.
