Caritas participated in ‘The India Advantage (TIA)’ Summit, Technology for Sustainability

Caritas India participated in The India Advantage (TIA) Summit on Technology for sustainability. The India Advantage Summit is an annual event in Bengaluru, India that aims to bring together key government representatives, industry leaders, investors and global experts for mutual collaboration, knowledge sharing and learning between various cities to promote livability through innovation and sustainable development. This year the summit is organised on 25-26 November 2021 at Bengaluru.

Fr. (Dr.) Paul Moonjely, Executive Director of Caritas India presented the Theme “Housing: An Engine for Sustainability” Habitat development for the vulnerable communities, especially in the context of Disasters, which contribute to the Humanitarian agenda of building back better taking into account the building of sustainable housing solutions integrated with other sustainable solutions of livelihood. Alternate energy options and water and sanitation models were shared with the participants. This takes care of economic development and quality of life. It was a good platform for working with start-ups in the building sector.

The summit continues the conversations on how we could accelerate towards these global goals through digital transformation and urban innovation. In line with the themes, the 2-day hybrid summit featured 250+ delegates and thousands joining online as we Livestream the summit., including representation from over 15 countries.

The platform served as a platform to amplify and collaborate the voices of sustainability by bringing together the individuals, organisations, institutions and Government Functionaries who are creating products, solutions and services for sustainability.
