Caritas India is dedicated to serving marginalized communities, including those from socially excluded backgrounds, historically disadvantaged groups, and communities of diverse religious beliefs. Through a wide range of development initiatives, we prioritize the most marginalized, empowering them to overcome challenges and build resilient futures.
Caritas India began its humanitarian efforts in 1962 by raising funds to support soldiers during the Indo-China War, providing woollen garments and amenities for the sick and wounded. Today, its programs address livelihood security, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, governance, anti-human trafficking, peace-building, and healthcare, focusing on combating HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis, and other communicable diseases.
