Special teacher training on adolescent health

Scientific information about the health training gave wider opening on how children can take care about their health, shared Nazreen Shaikh, from Ismail Abdullah Qureshi high school, Jogeshwari, Mumbai.

Teachers like Nazreen from eight schools from Mumbai undergone two days training conducted for special teachers to sensitize them about health problems of the adolescence and plan the strategies to overcome this problem.

Varsha Sonawane, Programme Co-coordinator cum trainer, Mr. Ramesh Gajare, Trainer from the HAPPY project shared about the health training module and the role of Caritas India in the project.

Another teacher Varsha Nadkarni from Raja Ram dev Poddar Marathi school, Santacruz shared that each training module has highlighted the importance of health education which will help the new generation, expressed

Ms. Varsha Sonawane, Programme Coordinator conducted a session on Health to discuss Health, Hygiene and Nutrition. She gave the definition of good health of WHO (world Health organization) by using slide show and discussion. She further explained the importance of balance diet through rocket game.

The roll play conducted by Ramesh Gajre on teacher’s mood stress helped the participants to identify various emotions. He asked teachers to hold their hands and make a chain to release the stress. The session discussed about the signs of stress, sources of stress and about controlling the stress. Interactive roll play session on substance abuse differentiated addiction of tobacco, alcohol and drugs.

Ms. Ketaki Tarde, Master trainer present in the programme clarified doubts about the health modules.

Representative from DESH office Mr. K R Rajesh, project Director, was also present to attend the programme.
