Caritas India has strong commitment towards welfare of children and making sure children enjoys all their rights as mentioned in UNCRC (United Nations Convention on Rights of Children) as GoI ratified the CRC on 11th Dec 1992.

As per 2011 census 39% of India’s population comprises of children in different age groups and in the days/years ahead to come they are going to be main workforce for India and contributing to India economy.

Various initiatives are being run by Caritas India across these thematic areas with Micro – Meso and Macro level interventions. Theory of Change of Child Development Program focuses on keeping children at the centre of programming and the household as a unit. Further scaling them to gram panchayat – block – district – state and national level initiatives, hence having a ripple effect of every change that incurs during these interventions. Hence working on the self, society and system at every level and involvement of children, community members and other stakeholders in this journey.
