Caritas India, in partnership with NABARD, is implementing the Livelihood Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) in Palkot block of Gumla district, Jharkhand.

The project focuses on smallholder-led value addition of minor forest produce through lac processing in Kurum and tamarind processing in Tapkara. Targeting vulnerable tribal communities, the initiative aims to build skills, generate sustainable livelihoods, and empower women. In a remote, tribal-dominated region with limited irrigation and infrastructure, LEDP strengthens community resilience through forest-based enterprise development and income generation.
