Caritas India received the prestigious Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vanshree Award for its Center for Environmental Studies in Social Sector (CESSS).
During the Global Tiger Day function, Caritas India was awarded for its efforts in promoting Green Mission by planting 4000 trees in the CESSS land during the past 5 years.
The award consisting cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-, citation and memento was received by Fr. Jolly. Administrative Manager and Mr. Mukund Deshmukh, Social Development Officer, CESSS, Amravati today at Nagpur from Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Devendra Fadnavis in the presence of Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Highways, Transport and Shipping.
CESSS, is a Caritas India Resource Centre for promoting Natural Resource Management practices in Amravati, Maharashtra in assisting local communities in their socio-economic empowerment processes.
