Caritas India’s Manasi Project joined the global community in observing World Disability Day 2025 with a heartfelt celebration at the Rehoboth Rehabilitation Centre in Karunagaracheri. The event honored the dignity, inclusion, and empowerment of women with psychosocial disabilities, emphasizing their integral role as active contributors to society rather than marginalized individuals.
The Manasi Project, focused on rehabilitating and supporting women with psychosocial disabilities, creates safe spaces where beneficiaries receive therapeutic care, skill development, and social integration opportunities to rebuild confidence and independence.

On December 3rd, the event featured an insightful address by Dr. Gautham A. J., who highlighted the significance of World Disability Day and the necessity of fostering coordination, teamwork, and mutual support among the women beneficiaries. He stressed that everyone is equal, with unique talents and strengths, and spoke on the importance of recognizing early symptoms, managing concentration, and engaging actively during rehabilitation at Rehoboth.

Adding warmth and energy to the occasion, the beneficiaries enthusiastically participated in a games session, including musical chairs and dance activities. These moments of joy strengthened community bonds and encouraged self-expression, reflecting the spirit of inclusion that underpins the Manasi Project’s work.

Through this event, Caritas India reaffirmed its commitment to creating supportive environments where women with disabilities can grow in confidence and self-reliance. The celebration closed with renewed encouragement, capturing the true essence of World Disability Day—promoting dignity, solidarity, and empowerment for all.
