I planted a plant for my entire family

Baby Krishna hails from Chachana, Surendranagar District, Gujarat. It was in the month of August the Sanjivini project started in her village. She was glad to attend the training program with her mother. The training was focused on tackling the “Malnutrition” among children persisting in the village. The trainers taught the methodology of a kitchen garden which made the young Krishna curious about vegetables. Through her mother’s help, she gathered more knowledge on the nutritional benefits of drumsticks. She was thrilled to know how beneficiary drumsticks are to tackle malnutrition. Without wasting any time she went on a search for a drumstick sapling, which she was able to acquire from her uncle.

It was indeed a joyous moment for Krishna when she planted that sapling in her name. Besides drumstick along with her mother’s help t,hey planted other vegetables like brinjal, lady finger, bitter guard, tomatoes in their kitchen garden. She proudly exclaims “I planted a tree for my entire family”. As she is joyfully watering her garden every day while herself and her three younger sisters are waiting to have the nutritious drumstick from the tree, with an intent to plant one drumstick tree under each of their names.
