Caritas India’s Samvaad Peacebuilding programoperates to restore social peace and integration in three districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Through a strategic blend of dialogue, conflict resolution techniques, and community engagement activities, the program endeavours to promote peace, reconciliation, and harmony among communities. “Samvaad,” a Hindi term meaning “dialogue,” underscores the pivotal role of communication and understanding in preventing further conflict. Caritas India’s innovative approach involves engaging Knowledge partners to empower program beneficiaries as peace ambassadors. The program’s three key outcomes include the effective functioning of gram panchayats, the establishment and capacitation of citizens’ forums, and the cultivation of a broader public opinion in Favor of peace and communal harmony.
